March to June 2021 Dividends & Portfolio Update

I have not been able to write as much as I hoped to on my blog. I summarize the dividends I received in the last 4 months since I last published anything. Work responsibilities have been increasing as I am given new responsibilities, which has caused me to have less time to publish. I have not been able to invest much recently as I feel the market is over-valued. As a result, I just reinvest the dividends I receive but keep the remainder cash from my vocational income as a rainy day fund. Currently my cash is around $73K USD.

Dividends continue to track upwards, there were a few special dividends received in earlier months this year so there is a slight downward movement in the 3 month moving average. But overall, it is growing upwards. Dividends going forward will be growing slower as I have not been investing any of my cash positions.

Since it's been a while since I last updated I include information below on my portfolio. There actually hasn't been much activity besides dividends reinvestment. I have moved AT&T into Altria and O and some other investments due to AT&T cuttings its dividend after spinning off WarnerMedia which is to be merged with Discovery. The portfolio has continued to grow all by itself, it is almost $1.2M USD. The US market as a whole has been continuously moving upwards into what I think is unsustainable overvaluation. The dividend income has not grown much in the last several quarters, as I have not added to any new positions besides dividend reinvestment and each positions' own dividend increases.

If there is a pullback in the S&P500 in the 10-20% range, I plan to add more shares. But at the moment I am content holding my $73K in cash. Below is a photo of the S&P500 showing its upward trajectory. And below is a summary of my holdings and progress so far. The market has nearly doubled since its lows in 2020 during the COVID19 scare.

I wish all readers continued success in their investing ventures. In such periods when the market has expanded so much, and liquidity is so high and there is so much money chasing so few deals, we must remain cautious and be prepared when opportunities arise.

Happy Investing

  2. More stellar months YD! It's crazy to see your progress in just over 7 years. And I like the portfolio construction plenty of diversification but it's still relatively concentrated. I'm working on whittling the number of holdings down for my own portfolio mainly just for simplicity's sake. Also a bit jealous of that $73k you got sitting on the sidelines for some market turmoil.

  3. I understand it's hard for you to update as you've done before. But please come back with maybe a monthly update or so I love your blog and I follow it for my monthly deposits.

  5. Please continue with your blog. It is very inspiring to me. Can you share some more details on how you determine whether a stock is fairly priced or overvalued. Which method do you use?
